Herein lie the stories sung of Nikhil when the world was young.

Well, got 1/3 of the way done with the Matrix: Revolutions final trailer analysis. I posted a link to this site to MatrixFans.net forums, so hopefully I won't go way the hell over my allotted daily bandwidth. Yeah, right. Time to find a temporary home for this project.
Oh, and I just found out how to get to the Ultra-resolution trailer. Damn, now I have to redo all the captures. ARGH!!!

This is amusing: someone found my site by accident while looking for someone else named NikhilK, who is apparently a Microsoft developer. Google Cached Link.

Lord of the Rings news
Wow! The first of the trailers for Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is out! It is still not officially posted on the website for the movies, but I have obtained a link to the file. Be warned, the quality is fair, but not great.
The Link: get it here.

I have begun analyzing the Matrix: Revolutions trailer shot-by-shot, frame-by-frame. I have posted a page on the Other Projects section that will be updated soon with around 100 screenshots from the trailer.

The new site design is finally up and running! Now do you see why I was delayed in making some updates? :) I'll clean up the visuals and font sizes tomorrow. I mean today. Ick.
Now, must.... sleep.... <thud>

For those of you concerned about how I'm doing, things are great. I'm enjoying being back on campus, and my clients are giving me around 35 hours a week of work, which is pretty groovy. Of course, now, I'm setting the schedules and deadlines, which means zero stress. Aaah, Aveeno.
Oh, and important news that no one should be without; the best part is the doctor's quote at the end. WARNING: this link is not friendly to corporate content-filtering firewalls (no porn, etc, just a funny headline). THE LINK.

OH NO!!! I've been very delinquent in updating this site recently, especially in light of major news in my life. I've been plannning Version 2.5 of the Nikhil.Net site, and was hoping to roll everything out at once, but sadly, the new site is still not quite ready for prime-time.
Nonetheless, below are date-accurate back-fills of important information.

Jeff's sendoff at the Golden Dragon. It was good to see some faces I hadn't in a while, such as Mark. I was actually very well behaved (strangely, as were most), but I guess wives/kids will tend to tame a situation.
We all wish Jeff the best, and look forward to him returning safely to our exciting state. (And, Jeff, we expect e-mails with pictures.)
Sadly, I had to leave the party earlier than I wanted to for a dinner date, but as it turns out, a decision well worth it. :)

My real last day at WSG. There was a nice lunch outing to Don Pablo's to give me a send-off, and it was very nice. A lot of people showed up, and I thank you for that. What shocked me is even people I don't pay to hang around me showed up!
Oh, and I had to wear a sombrero.
Oh, and no more laptop for me. However, lots of college chicks instead, so a good trade.

I've been getting a lot of questions from people as to why I quit, and I've actually heard a couple disconcerting rumors. I'd like to put these to rest. (No bad wishes are intended toward anyone, but I'd like to keep the facts straight.)
Rumor 1: I was asked to leave/fired. FALSE! As any of you that worked with me the final 3 weeks I was there would know, this was obviously not the case.
Rumor 2: My leaving was a mutual decision. FALSE! Again, not to ruffle any feathers here, but facts are facts. My announcement to the management team actually generated a largely negative response.
The real reason? Well, I had been turning down offers for more money because I enjoyed working at WSG and especially enjoyed the level of skill of my coworkers. In the end, I instead decided to take a competing offer for a similar product role. Just before accepting that, however, I decided to sign up for a couple grad classes (hopefully the university junk that some of you know about will get sorted out soon), and resume consulting solo.
Dismissed, soldier.

My "official" last day at WSG. However, the management team has asked me if I can work 1 extra week to help knowledge x-fer, and I have agreed to do so.
(Yes, that's right. The surprising news from 8/29 was that I resigned.)
