Herein lie the stories sung of Nikhil when the world was young.

03-27-2003

Being the kick-ass technical god I am, I turned around a very bad morning into a good day. Not great, but pretty damn good.

In other news, my finger is hurting bad enough that I can't even type with it. This sucks.

03-26-2003, very late (next-day-late)

Very interesting night. We royally sucked ass for the first set. Probably negative vibes from having a guy come up and sing with us (not a very good singer, sadly). On the upside, I made $40 in "tips," as did the other guys. Wacky. Free parking, free food, free drink, and I MADE $40. Not a bad night.

Props to Brian for not kicking basketball guy's ass, and to Brett for joining us and bringing a large binder of sheet music.

And the downside? I cut up one finger playing and it is really killing me now.

03-26-2003

Live jam tonight! A couple Wolcott folks may join us, and we'll see if Matt the scaredy-cat shows up.

03-25-2003

Gearing up for the live jam tomorrow. We will be joined by Brett, also on the steel-string acoustic.

Oh, and went to get all dressed up in the Morpheus-style outfit for fun... too hot to wear my leather trench coat. Damn! :( On the upside, I got a couple compliments. Kinda funny, that.

(Still no response to the question I asked the sunglasses people.)

03-24-2003

Buy a pair of Morpheus sunglasses and get a second pair free? Perhaps Agent Smith 2.0 style? ZESTY!!!! I REVEL IN MY GEEKINESS!!!!

03-23-2003

Yum. Sunday brunch at the fighter group. Tons of food and hot waitresses. Zesty times two!

03-22-2003

WOW! The Matrix short kicked major AZZ!!!! One of the hottest CG chicks in a while in a really cool blindfolded katana duel. Tres cool! The graphics quality was well ahead of even Final Fantasy, providing multi-layered textures that had very good visual quality. Even the motion was fluid.

OK, the downside? The movie. I CANNOT express how horrible, pathetic, crappy and downright disgusting this movie was. Not disgusting in the sense of gross, but in the sense of, DEAR GOD I PAID FOR THIS DRIVEL! You could make a movie about assaulting midgets with sopping wet banana peels and it would have more plot and artistic integrity than this movie.

I felt myself getting stupider as I watched it. It was like watching a car crash - you just can't look away, it's so horrible. I kept hoping they would find a way to redeem it at some point, but at each intersection, it kept going the wrong way. Finally, I was at a point when I would have been happy if it had just started to parody itself. Why this much writing? Because the movie was just THAT BAD and I need to vent, dammit. The saddest thing is, there was potential for it to be a good movie.

03-21-2003, midday

Looks like Brett, his wife and I will be going to see Dreamcatcher tonight. More important will be the Final Flight of the Osiris trailer, of course.

03-19-2003, pre-midnight

Wow! Playing guitar with Brian C. was a blast!!! We played for almost 3.5 hours, and some other people came up to sing and have fun. Also met a new friend, Matt, who will be joining us in the future on these excursions as a vocalist.

The funny things were some of the compliments, including one guy who asked how long we had been playing together! (Let's see... around 3 hours or so!)

03-18-2003, evening

So it's final. I'm going to play at open mic night tomorrow with Brian C.

Will I be mocked? Will I be praised? Stay tuned! Same Nik-time, same Nik-channel!

03-18-2003, midday

News flash! According to multiple news sources, the events from Final Flight of the Osiris lead DIRECTLY into Matrix: Reloaded.

03-17-2003, after freeing my mind

Matrix Outing Time!

Be aware that the first of the Offical N.Net Matrix Outings is being planned.

This particular outing focuses on the Stephen King movie Dreamcatcher. This movie has an 11 minute CGI Matrix "movie" at the beginning of it. It is done Final Fantasy style, but with more polys. It should be cool. It is called Final Flight of the Osiris. See a Sci-Fi channel article on it here. And more sequel info here, including a cool picture of Morpheus with a Katana.

Currently, the best location for everyone to attend appears to be Montrose. The Regal Cinemas there has a good sound system (or used to the last time I was there). Contact me to discuss scheduling.

03-17-2003

I've been extremely remiss in updating this site lately. My apologies. You know how you get into a routine and it's tough to break out of it? Well, I'm trying to break out of it now.

03-16-2003

Wow, it's warm! Time for a car wash.

03-15-2003

Wow, it's warm! Time for an oil change.

03-14-2003

Brian C. and I went out to see Michelle at the "bar". Turns out to be a small steakhouse place. Decent restaurant section, but the bar area was a total dive.

So after being annoyed at Michelle misrepresenting the place, we went to Dave and Busters and hung there for a few hours. Good clean fun.
